Balanced?

We are all looking for balance, balance between work and free time, between yourself and your loved ones, between action and rest..

What is it actually about? Balance could be described as an equilibrium that you experience internally. A pleasant feeling of peace and satisfaction regarding the choices you make and the experiences you have in your life. You increasingly know your own needs and desires and balance according to the circumstances. But sometimes it is a tightrope: you lose energy and get out of balance. Suddenly that agenda has to become calmer or you don’t seem to make it, or a familiar environment from yesterday has turned into chaos the next day and knocks you down.

Your body gives signals that indicate that you are out of balance. What happened? Did you keep going while you actually knew it was time to stop? Did you need rest after that hard day but didn’t take it seriously? Did you get stuck in emotion after a violent incident and didn’t give yourself the time to process? Did you wait too long to decide on life questions while you understood the importance sufficiently?

If we often tend to lean forward with our body, we push on our energy system, we tend too much towards the future. When we lean back, we are usually hanging in the past, we keep the boat at bay. When we are distinctly stronger on our right side, we are mainly focused outwards, focus on the outside world. When we are strongest on the left, we are mainly focused on our inner world. Such an imbalance may be necessary temporarily, just to get back into balance, but a balanced attitude from all perspectives can be striven for.

If we stay close enough to ourselves, we know what is needed to stay balanced, our body gives the signals, both physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually. It is a matter of following them consistently. Unfortunately, many people are no longer in touch with their body. Mentally we are all quite strongly developed, but healthy body awareness is a different matter. And also ‘knowing’ that expansion is always followed by contraction, and vice versa, one of the universal laws, just like day and night, just like the moon…

I wish you all a beautiful new moon***
